Subject: Regarding an unprovoked shooting by Security Forces on me Sir, I, Mrs Sodi Sambo, am 28 years old and am a resident of the Gompar village, Police Station Konta, South Bastar, Dantewada, Chhattisgarh. Almost two weeks ago, on 1st Oct, several Police officers, SPOs and members of security forces from the Injaram, Konta camp came and surrounded our house. Among them, I was able to recognize one Mavadi Buchcha (son of Mavadi Suba) who is an SPO and hails from Konta. They abducted me along with my two daughters, Sodi Raju (age approximately 3 years), and Sodi Nagro (age approximately 5 years), and brought me to the house of our neighbor, Soyam Sensa whose wife Soyam Bali along with her child was at home at the time. Some members of the security forces pointed their guns at her in order to kill her, but others, seeing the presence of children advised against it. They then stood me up with my two children and shot me in the foot. I immediately fell to the ground and my children started crying uncontrollably. On advice of other Security Forces personnel, I was then let go. Notwithstanding the fact that I am guilty of no crime, The Police, the Security Forces, and SPOs attacked me without any pretext. I would therefore like to file an FIR against the Police, Security Forces and SPOs who were involved in this near-fatal attack, and I request that appropriate action be taken against them.
